Update on Senate Bill 955

What can you do?

Write and Call.  We need to make our voices heard at the local level.  We are asking you as a local leader to write and call your local senator.  Activate your members as well. We just can't afford to lose this one.

People we need to contact your senator:

Local union members and it doesn't matter what their classification or union is, this is an attack on all unions because this is an attack on the basic fundamental rights of employees.

Local administrators that you have good relationships with,

Local community members (faith based, parents or PTA groups, CLCs, other unions themselves, etc)

Other politicians (local, state or federal),

Business groups that you have a relationship with, and

Any other group or person that might be a taxpayer or voter.

I have attached a letter that can be adjusted to suit the organization or person writing or faxing or mailing it in.  Within the attached letter, there are parts that must be changed by each person that will be sending it in (either fax or mail).  Change what is red, then highlight the entire document, then change the text color to black.  No need to change each red item to black individually.  But only do this after each red area has been amended.  Send it in directly and if possible fax us a copy (916-446-2401).

Also, you can call your local senator's office and ask that they vote NO (you can use the letter as the message when you call in).  Click here to find out who your senator is.  Type in your zip and it will give you all of the contact information for that person.  You can call their capitol office to find out their fax and room number.  If you click on their name, it will give you their website, too.

So call and write TODAY, this is urgent and this is necessary.  Pass this email on, if need be.
